Ronald Midkiff, a retired university
professor, has many years of needlework experience and discovered
beadweaving while teaching in Korea in 2000. It became a passion.
Ronald has studied with leading beadweavers in U.S., Canada, and
Japan, and now teaches on- and off-loom beadweaving in the North
Georgia area.
CLASS DESCRIPTION
This course will
include on-loom and off-loom beading instruction.
On-loom instruction
will include:
" Describing types of materials and tools to be used
" Warping the loom
" Weaving a small project
" Removing beaded project from loom
" Disposing of warp threads
" Adding embellishments and findings to make bracelet and/or
pendant.
Off-loom instruction
will include:
" Beginning Peyote stitch
" Beginning Ndebele stitch
" Beginning Block stitch
" Beginning Brick stitch
Kits for simple
projects, including findings, in each of these stitches will be
provided.
A day of instruction
on bead embroidery--bezeling cabochons into a piece of embroidered
jewelry
LAB FEE: Materials
for the class should not exceed $100, including the loom.
